With the formation of Conrail the GTW took over the PC line from Durand up to Bay City and over to Midland. To celebrate this event the GTW moved their bi-centenial unit into town.
GTW 1776 and CN 5548 are waiting for the yardmaster to tell them what track their train is on in the yard at Battle Creek, Michigan, in September of 1977.
